Let's spend a Sunday morning at the horse races! 🐎
We are going to Hipódromo de la Zarzuela, a historic racecourse in Madrid. We will watch the races, make small bets, have lunch and meet people from the community.

Gates open at 10:30. The first race starts at 11:30. We meet at 10:30 at Moncloa bus station.

🏁 What's special about this day
This is the Gran Premio 85th Anniversary of the Hippodrome (1941–2026), one of the top races of the autumn season. There will be 5–7 races, about 30 minutes apart.

Children under 14 enter for free with an adult

🚌 How to get there
Free shuttle bus from Moncloa (Paseo Moret). It leaves about one hour before the first race.
Public bus 658 from Moncloa interchange
By car: free parking for 2,000+ cars
🎰 Betting (optional)
You can bet at any betting window in the venue. You must be 18+.
Tell the cashier: race number, bet type, horse number and amount.
Easy bet types: Ganador (the horse wins) and Colocado (the horse finishes in the top 3)
Minimum bet is 2 € for simple bets
👕 Dress code
No strict dress code for general entry. Smart casual is a good choice. Many guests dress up a little, so wear what you like. Comfortable shoes are a good idea, as there is a lot of walking outside.
🍽 What's there
The venue has bars and food, a picnic area, a paddock where you can see the horses before the race, and great views of the stands with the famous concrete roof. There is also a restaurant, La Tapa.
