We reach for technological fixes while the deeper problems multiply beneath us. Dr. Andy Amato examines how our reflex toward innovation keeps us treating symptoms instead of causes, inventing new ways to manage personal and social breakdowns without confronting what produces them in the first place. That pattern, he argues, feeds the growing sense that we are living through something terminal.
