Token Engineering Breakout Session
Token Engineering Breakout Sessions
Live Mechanism & System Design Workshop hosted by Token Engineering Academy, Bancor, UZH Blockchain Center, Token Engineering Labs, EthCC, and knowledge partners IEEE Blockchain, taking place at the main venue of EthCC[9] 2026 in Cannes.
A hands-on design workshop for researchers, protocol designers, engineers, and economists working on real decentralized systems.
What This Is
A structured, collaborative design environment where real protocol challenges are brought into the room and worked on in small, focused groups.
Participants will:
Engage with concrete mechanism and market design problems
Clarify assumptions and constraints
Identify incentives and strategic interactions
Explore alternative system architectures
Surface trade-offs before they become production risks
The emphasis is on live design work — reasoning in public, stress-testing ideas, and refining models collaboratively.
How It Works
Selected teams present real design challenges they are currently facing.
Participants then self-organize into breakout groups to work through those problems in depth.
The session concludes with a comparative discussion across groups, identifying shared patterns and recurring design tensions in onchain systems.
Who Should Attend
Protocol designers building or refining live systems
Engineers working on incentive-driven architectures
Economists and researchers studying mechanism design
Builders who want to stress-test ideas before deployment
