Investing in the Age of AI (Compete for $10k USD)
Most people never learn to invest. This is a free eight-session course, co-hosted by Professor Dan Ye and MOSS, that teaches it by making you do it.
You start with a simulated $100,000 portfolio and trade it for the full semester. Each live session takes one technology reshaping the economy, quantum computing, blockchain, bipedal robots, energy storage, biotech, and asks what it means for where capital goes next. Then you make a call and put money behind it.
Dan Ye is an attorney, investor, and educator who teaches at Johns Hopkins. He funds the student winners himself. The program has been featured on Fox News, CBS, and CCTV.
The prizes
At the end of the semester, the professor will select one or more winners to manage a $10,000 portfolio of real capital. Selection is not purely by return. Risk-adjusted performance and the quality of your investment reasoning also factor into the decision.
Starting from the third session, top weekly performers who share their investment philosophy with the class receive a small cash prize.

Who this is for
Anyone is welcome - engineers, CS students, and technical professionals. No finance background needed. Dan's own results show engineers and scientists consistently outperform business students in this course.
What it costs
Nothing. No tuition, no fees, no real money at risk.
Commitment
Eight sessions across four months, plus roughly twenty minutes a week on trades and reasoning. Around a third of participants drop off partway through. The ones who stay are the ones who get funded.
