Comma Deeptech Meetup #1: Robotics NYC
Join us for the first Robotics NYC Meetup hosted by Comma Capital. Thank you to JLL for hosting this first meetup!
We are excited to bring together various folks building in robotics, physical AI, hardware + software, sensors, etc.
We will also be having a few robotics companies give demos and quick lightning talks. The 3 companies that will be presenting are Starlife, SOMA Robotics, Human Friendly Robotics and Foundational Bio.
About Comma Capital: Comma Capital is an early stage pre-seed and seed fund started by Penn alums David Ongchoco & Adarsh Bhatt. Comma runs a community of early stage builders and hosts hundreds of community events in NYC & SF.
About JLL: JLL is a global real estate advisory firm with a focus on what matters most to growing companies: the right space, the right terms, and the right strategy. We work with early-stage tech startups and scaled organizations alike, including companies like Anthropic, xAI, and Navan, and power every engagement through LeasingOS, our proprietary technology platform (powered by Raise). LeasingOS unifies portfolio visibility, transaction management, and AI-driven insights in one place, giving our clients have full transparency and control throughout the entire leasing process.
About Foundational Bio: Foundational Bio is building a self-driving lab: an AI-native, fully automated laboratory that replaces manual workflows to dramatically increase the speed and reliability of life-science experimentation.
About SOMA Robotics: SOMA Robotics — Full-stack manipulation platform for AI developers and research labs. Dual-arm hardware (tabletop + mobile) + soda OS, our agentic OS with teleop, data collection, and VLM-orchestrated manipulation. Out of the box.
About Starlife: Starlife turns physical jobs into remote work by deploying human-operated robots, starting in customer-facing roles.
About Human Friendly: Human Friendly Robotics is building Tyler, an autonomous floor tiling robot designed for real construction sites. It helps contractors get 3–5x more done with the same crew by turning tile installation into a more repeatable, equipment-driven process.
