IRL: Whiteboard Practice Night
Join Weekly Dev Chat for a whiteboard practice night focused on a skill that matters in interviews and on the job: explaining your thinking clearly while solving a problem.
We’ll work through junior-friendly, approachable coding problems (think “easy warm-ups” / early LeetCode-style), but this is not about speed or perfection. The goal is to practice:
Understanding the problem and building a solid mental model
Asking clarifying questions and stating assumptions
Talking through your approach step-by-step
Explaining tradeoffs (even for simple solutions)
Staying calm and communicating when you get stuck
How it works
We (the hosts) will start by walking through 1–2 example problems to demonstrate how to narrate your thought process. After that, attendees can volunteer to take a turn and talk through a problem in front of the group (whiteboard/interview style). Participation is optional! Watching and learning is totally welcome.
Difficulty level
Junior-friendly / beginner-approachable. Problems are selected to be welcoming and not intimidating.
What to bring
A laptop (optional, but helpful)
Curiosity and a willingness to think out loud
A supportive mindset (this is practice, not judgement)
Tickets
This event is free to attend. Donations are welcomed and used to cover venue costs, snacks, and support other Weekly Dev Chat activities.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided such as pop, water, cookies, etc. will be provided.
