About Event

Every firm starts out with everyone able to do everything, and on day one that is the right call. Once your team has real roles, the question changes: who needs the keys, who needs the money, and who needs the account.

By the end of the session you'll know which of Chronicle's six roles to assign, what a Restricted account actually does, and which actions on the team page cannot be undone.

Second session in Chronicle Unlocked, our hands-on training series.

What we'll cover:

  • The six-role ladder, and why it's ranked rather than custom. View only, Restricted, Staff, Manager / Rep, Admin, Billing owner. Where the breakpoints actually fall, and why "how senior is this person" is the wrong place to start

  • What Chronicle protects above ordinary case work. Nearly everything operational unlocks at a single rung. Only three things sit higher: the keys, the money, and the account

  • Restricted accounts, the role most firms read backwards. It ranks above View only and sees fewer clients, not more. The outside contract rep carrying ten cases is who it was built for

  • The notification fact that surprises every firm. Two of the six roles receive no notifications at all. Not fewer. None

  • Invite, change, archive. Who can do each, what archiving actually removes (less than most people fear), and the one thing on this page that takes a support ticket to undo

Three scenario polls. A real situation goes on screen, you get a minute to pick an answer, and then we walk through why each wrong option breaks. You'll know whether you got it right.

You'll walk away with:

  • A rule for assigning roles that starts from the requirement instead of the person

  • A role-by-role table you can map your own team onto

  • One thing to check in your account this week that most firms have never looked at

Who this is for:

  • Firm admins and managers who assign roles today

  • Attorneys and operations leads deciding how access should be divided

  • Any firm with an outside contractor, referring attorney, or auditor who needs partial access

  • Anyone considering Chronicle who wants to see how team access works

A note on access: Settings and Team is a manager and admin page. If that isn't you today, you'll be planning rather than clicking, and every question we ask is one you can answer either way.

About Chronicle Unlocked

Hands-on training for firms using or curious about Chronicle. Every session is screen shared and built so you finish it having set something up, not just having seen it done. Sessions are numbered so you know the depth: 101 for firms getting set up or still evaluating, 201 for teams ready to go deeper, 301 for advanced and firm-wide workflows.

Come with your account open if you have team access. We'll send the written steps to everyone who registers, within the hour.

Can't make it live? Register anyway and we'll send you the recording.
