About Event

AI is shaping our world, but whose voices are being heard?

Too often, conversations about artificial intelligence are dominated by the people building the technology, while the everyday experiences of citizens and communities are left out. The focus tends to fall on problems and risks; job losses, threats to democracy, privacy concerns and disinformation. All without asking a deeper question: what kind of future do we actually want with AI?

Instead of constantly reacting and trying to “fix” harms, what if we could open space to dream bigger? To imagine new, inclusive stories about AI, ones that reflect many voices, many cultures, and many possibilities.

We invite you to a fireside chat and community evening with Camila Lombana Diaz, AI ethicist and Responsible AI advisor, where we’ll reimagine AI together. Let’s move beyond fear and into creativity, envisioning futures where technology truly serves people.

About the Evening:

As always, we will provide drinks and snacks. "We Create Meaning" is a nonprofit community project, and ticket prices cover the cost of the drinks, snacks and organization.

Tickets are on a sliding scale from 15€-25€ (reduced tickets available for those in need)

Schedule:

  • Doors open: 19:00

  • Fireside starts at: 19:30

  • Meet & Mingle: 20:30 - Open End

We look forward to seeing you there!

About Camila:

Camila Lombana Díaz is a Colombian-born AI ethicist and advisor at SAP, where she has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s approach to responsible AI. She co-authored the SAP AI Ethics Handbook, the SAP Global AI Ethics Policy, and helped designed the framework that mature the company’s global AI ethics process. Her work focuses on aligning AI development with human rights to ensure AI systems uphold societal values.

Recognized among the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics™, Camila brings a human-centric perspective to AI innovation, fostering ethical integration across engineering and design. She has authored a chapter on AI ethics in Springer’s Human-Centered AI and co-authored the whitepaper Promoting and Advancing Human Rights in Global AI Ecosystems, presented at the UN Human Rights Council. Her research has also been supported and co-created with various Indigenous communities in Colombia, especially with the Muykas and Kichwas, where she explores a pluriversal understanding and representation of AI. Her insights and work move beyond a corporate understanding of operationalizing AI, emphasizing the need to reflect on its broader impacts—including environmental concerns and emerging rights such as the right to disconnect—through the lens of pluriversal AI.
