Artists Honoring Casa Ramirez
As Casa Ramirez is set to close in March, Mexican, American, Chicana, Chicano, and Latino artists convene to honor its legacy of supporting the arts.
Although this version of Casa Ramirez will cease, it will continue online through its archives and in the generations of artists it inspired. Artists will share memories of the amazing work that this folk art gallery has accomplished and discuss how they will continue this movement.
We will honor the proprietor of Casa Ramirez, Chrissie Dickerson Ramirez, and the memory of her husband, our mentor, the late Macario Ramirez.
Special presentations by writer, Tony Diaz, El Librotraficante, founder of Nuestra Palabra: Latinos Having Their Say, who will also act as master of ceremonies.
Special guests:
Richard Reyes, aka Pancho Claus, represents the performing and community arts.
Bryan Parras: Collaborator with Another Gulf Is Possible, digital documentary storyteller and archivist.
Liana Lopez, LianaLisa Digital Media, multimedia communications strategist and artist.
Monica Villarreal, Interdisciplinary Artist & Founder, Xochipilli Collective
