Open Scientific Intelligence Hackathon (NYC Hub)
Fulcrum Science is excited to host the NYC hub for the fourth annual Open Scientific Intelligence Hackathon!
Join scientists, students, and engineers for two days of building AI tools for scientific problems in materials science, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and more. You'll team up, scope a problem, and leave with a working demo.
What You Might Build
Teams in past years have applied AI models and agents to solve problems like these:
Turn results from papers into queryable databases
Run simulations using natural language
Design and validate new molecules and materials
Interpret instrument data
Build better lab tooling and interfaces
Benchmark existing models/agents on science research
Who Should Come
Scientists – have you ever felt frustrated repeating certain manual tasks over and over or wondered how AI could accelerate your work? Engineers – have you ever wondered how you can use your expertise to help scientists and researchers? Bring your perspectives!
In-Person Hub: Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons
Day 1:
9am: Space opens, breakfast available
9:30am: Brief Welcome from Fulcrum Science
Talk by Delia McGrath of Radical AI

Pre-Event Team Building: Before the hackathon, feel free to join the global event Slack, which includes an asynchronous teaming channel to help you find collaborators.
Beyond the Event
Participating teams may have the chance to contribute to collaborative research papers documenting the hackathon's outcomes.
Register now and build AI for science!
Be sure to also register on the global event page for project visibility and judging.
