Surfrider Foundation: Gas Works Park Clean Up Event
Come join the Seattle chapter of The Surfrider Foundation for a clean up event at Gas Works Park!
The Surfrider Seattle Chapter is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the ocean, waves, and beaches of the Pacific Northwest, while also supporting Surfrider's global initiatives. (https://seattle.surfrider.org/)
Picking up trash at Gas Works Park keeps litter from being carried by rain and wind into storm drains, rivers, and ultimately the ocean, where it harms marine life and ecosystems.
Surfrider Foundation will provide gloves, trash bags, trash bins, trash picker/grabbers - all you need to do is show up!
We will be located right next to the playground at Gas Works Park (on the East side of the park). You will see a big blue tent with a Surfrider sign. If you are unfamiliar with Gas Works, please see this map for location of the playground: https://www.seattle.gov/documents/Departments/ParksAndRecreation/Reserve/Maps/GasWorks2023.pdf
In addition to registering via Luma, please also sign a waiver via this Surfrider link. Waivers will also be available at the event if you did not get a chance to fill one out beforehand.
For any questions, feel free to reach out to Maria Travaille at mtravaille@seattle.surfrider.org.
