Hands On Water Cycle Restoration Workshop: Rock Check Dam Installation 9/6

​We are installing rock check dams at our farm to prepare for the predicted Super El Niño. These rock check dams slow down rainwater runoff to combat flooding and mitigate erosion. It’s a super simple technology that we’re wanting to share tips about with our community as well as give people access to get hands on and learn with us as we install.
Join us for this hands-one workshop at our farm in Upper Ojai.

​For the nerds: RCDs are nature-based infrastructures that are intended to reverse gully erosion, slow stormwater flow, reduce flooding, reconnect gully to floodplain, increase landscape hydration, and groundwater recharge, shown to revive wetlands & reverse desertification.

12:15PM: Closing Circle
12:30PM: Departure
