About Event

The Hardware Meetup community is excited to announce the 111th NY Hardware Meetup—our biggest event of the year—in celebration of Climate Week NYC!

This month, we’ll be hosted at Infinite Machine at their sprawling facility in Long Island City!

We want this to be our most impactful gathering yet—so tag us, share your experience, and follow us on LinkedIn to be part of the conversation!

SPEAKERS

  • Zach Cooper – Zach Cooper is an engineer, product designer, and master fabricator, currently Head of Engineering + cofounder at Infinite Machine. Zach has extensive experience in manufacturing and production engineering, specializing in lean and just-in-time methodologies. Previously, he served as Design and Production Engineer at Kammetal, and was founder and operator of Brooklyn Motor Works and Freehand Metalworks. Zach studied Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design at Penn State, University of Michigan, Coventry University, Pratt Institute, and College for Creative Studies. He lives in New York City.

  • James Richard Anderson – James is a systems engineer and technical leader with over a decade of experience spanning electric vehicle innovation, cloud platform development, and complex systems integration. Currently at Infinite Machine, he drives electrical, firmware, and software integration for next-generation personal electric vehicles. Previously, he served as a Technical Program Manager at Palantir, contributing to the Apollo continuous deployment platform, and spent nearly eight years at Tesla, where he led hardware design and rollout initiatives for vehicle systems. A Harvey Mudd College engineering graduate with a concentration in Spanish, James has also studied abroad in Madrid and taken a career sabbatical to travel extensively through Spain and the U.S.

  • Nick de Boer – Nicholas de Boer is Chief of Staff at Thea Energy, a fusion technology company leveraging simpler, manufacturable hardware and software controls to create abundant energy. Since joining the company in 2023, Nick has helped to grow the Thea Energy team to over 70 employees, open its new headquarters in Kearny, NJ, and oversee synergy across teams allowing the Company to recently demonstrate its core technologies at fusion relevant scale. Nick joined Thea Energy from RBC Capital Markets, where he was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure group. There, he performed valuation analysis and conducted financial and operational due diligence across numerous M&A transactions. 

  • Sally Chen – Sally Chen is the Co-founder and CEO of Atalanta Climate, a startup building the world’s first design-forward, in-home and office-based carbon capture devices. A seasoned startup operator with over a decade of experience scaling early-stage ventures, she previously led U.S. Business Management at Shopify and began her career in investment banking at Citigroup. After witnessing the 2020 wildfires in San Francisco, she shifted her focus to climate solutions that improve wellness and air quality while removing CO₂ from everyday spaces.
