About Event

In a world overflowing with information (and disinformation), it’s hard to know what’s really safe for our health and our families.
In this workshop, we’ll take a clear, science-based look at the materials that touch our food every day, from containers and bottles to packaging.

You’ll learn:

  • Basic concepts in toxicology that will help you spot fear-mongering content and recognize science-based information.

  • Regulations in place in Europe that aim to protect citizens from harmful chemicals, and why they’re sometimes not enough.

  • What’s truly worth avoiding in your kitchen and what’s perfectly safe.

  • How to make smarter choices without wasting time or money.

  • The environmental impact of food contact materials and how small, practical swaps can protect both your well-being and the planet.

Leave empowered, not scared, with clear facts and simple ideas you can start applying right away.

The speaker: With a Biomedical Sciences background, Dr. Andreia Fernandes works as a Science Communicator in Environmental Health and Toxicology. She is the founder of “OH!Science”, a science communication platform, making science accessible to the wider public.
