Crossing the cold (Swim Lake Starnberg West to East)
Organization: Adaptation Exchange
Language: English
Not Wheel-chair Accessible
event free of charge
Adaptation hurts at first. The cold hits, your body resists, every instinct tells you to turn back. But you adjust. You breathe. You move forward - and you're not alone. That is effective adaptation: uncomfortable at the start, possible when prepared, powerful when done together. At sunrise during Munich Climate Week we cross Lake Starnberg, from the west shore to Steg Percha - 1400m in 12-14 degrees. Five months after Climate week Zurich we are doing it again. Start 7.00, 5 min walk south-west of Starnberg station. Daniel will siwm - very experienced open-water swimmers may join. At your own risk. Everybody may join us at Steg Percha from 7:45am onwards to warm up together.
