​Earlier this day, we'll be putting the finishing touches on a group build with 15 volunteer high school students and their teachers, all the way from America. Over the past couple of days, we've been constructing a pavilion, working on an art piece, and building furniture together — and today, we wrap it all up.

​We're proud that our space has become a place where people of all kinds can gather and make something real: young and old, local and international, first-time builders and seasoned hands. This is what we love most about our first community at Akiya Collective: Komoro Makerspace.

​To celebrate, we're hosting a sunset BBQ at 5pm in our newly built backyard. This event is open to all local Komoro friends and community members. Come meet the students, see what we've built together, and share a meal as the sun goes down over the mountains.

​Additionally, over the weekend, we will be hosting a social technologies hackathon — a gathering of builders, organizers, and community-minded folks exploring what it means to create relational technology that strengthens local life. We'd also love to hear from locals about what tools we can build for better community belonging and relationships in Komoro. If that sparks something in you, pull up a chair. The hackathon kicks off officially the next morning, but the best conversations tend to start around a fire.

​この日の早い時間に、アメリカからやってきた15名のボランティア高校生とその先生方と共に、グループ制作の仕上げを行います。ここ数日間、パビリオンの建設、アート作品の制作、そして家具づくりに一緒に取り組んできました。そして今日、いよいよ完成です。

​私たちのスペースが、あらゆる人々が集い、共に何かを作り上げる場所になったことを誇りに思います。若い人も年配の方も、地元の方も海外からの方も、初めて工具を握る人もベテランの職人も。これこそが、私たちの最初のコミュニティである「アキヤ・コレクティブ」：小諸メイカースペースが最も大切にしていることです。

​その祝いとして、新しく完成した裏庭にて、午後5時から夕焼けバーベキューを開催します。地元の小諸の友人やコミュニティの皆さん、どなたでも歓迎です。学生たちと交流し、私たちが共に作り上げたものを見て、山々に夕日が沈む中で一緒に食事を楽しみましょう。

​さらに、この週末には、ソーシャルテクノロジー・ハッカソンを開催します。これは、地域の生活を豊かにする「関係性のためのテクノロジー」とは何かを共に探求する、開発者・オーガナイザー・コミュニティに関心を持つ方々の集まりです。小諸のコミュニティの絆や人間関係をより豊かにするために、どんなツールが作れるか——地元の皆さんのご意見もぜひお聞かせください。何かピンと来るものがあれば、ぜひ輪に加わってください。ハッカソンは翌朝から正式にスタートしますが、最も良い会話はたいてい、火を囲む場所から生まれるものです。
