Pavilion + Community Art Project Build Week
Help us construct a pavilion, collaborate on an art project, build furniture, and explore the town. Culminates in a backyard BBQ with local neighbors on the 8th, at 5pm. Join!
During this event, we're collaborating with teachers / seasoned builders from Watershed School will will be bringing their entire class + traveling internationally for this event

May 5 ~4pm: Intro presentation about Akiya Collective from the founder & director Michelle. During this time, we will also be brainstorming for an art project + site build
May 6 9am-12pm: Pavilion building, art piece work. In the evening, the class go on a castle town tour
May 7 9am-12pm: Pavilion building, art piece work. In the afternoon around 3pm, we will be visiting a local farmer who built his house out of the trees in his backyard. We’ll trade an hour of collective labor for hidden knowledge
May 8 9am-12pm: Finishing up group builds
To celebrate the end of the build week for the high school students, we are hosting a sunset BBQ at night in our new backyard at 5pm with local Komoro friends. This will also serve as a mixer for our social tech hackathon, which will be formally kicking off the day after. You won’t want to miss this! Please register separately for us to get a headcount.
