In The Mood For 🏮
IN THE MOOD FOR …
We’re taking you on a journey through cinema, ambience, and music.
We will transport you through time in a secret velveteen room, transformed into a musical enclave with an espresso martini bar (like a secret bar in the middle of Hong Kong)
… as if dropped right out of the movie set of In The Mood for Love.
Transporting you to a new world of sensation, mystique, and enjoyment.
Part One. The Film.
Take your seat in the dark. A drink is waiting for you on arrival, ours to offer, so you can settle in and let the film take you. Ninety minutes of red lacquer, cigarette smoke, and the ache of almost.
Some films are not watched so much as entered. Wong Kar-wai's In the Mood for Love is one of them: the narrow staircases, the noodle stalls at midnight, the slow brush of a sleeve in a hallway, the things two people never say out loud.
We are inviting you to step inside that world for one night.
Part Two. The Clandestine Bar
For those who stay, the room transforms into a hidden bar somewhere above a Hong Kong street in 1962. This is not about the film anymore. It is about you. What you feel in the dark. What you carry and rarely speak. An invitation to explore the most intimate contents of your own heart through the senses: sound, low light, the company of strangers tapped into the same kind of magic you experience.
Jiwu will guide a live musical journey that picks up where the soundtrack leaves off, cello and voice and the soft crackle of old records, keeping the atmosphere suspended. The music will be a sensual, cinematic musical journey inspired by the atmosphere of In the Mood for Love: slow burning rhythms, smoky textures and nostalgic melodies.
