Shop Talk: Books & Their Margins
A panel on bookshop biz — how 3 bookshops have been able to operate, and the kinds of spatial, curatorial, and programming decisions they make, to reach you. Featuring Shisi of Bungee Space (NYC), Ricky Yanas of Ulises, and Geoffrey kixMiller of Tomorrow Today.

Tomorrow Today is a new and used bookstore and rapid response press with a focus on radical histories & possible futures.
Geoffrey kixMiller is an artist and designer whose main current practice is running Tomorrow Today, a bookstore and publishing project founded in Los Angeles and now located in the Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Ulises is a bookshop and project space dedicated to artists’ books and independent art publications that explores the relationship between publics and publications. We provide an inventory of titles not widely distributed in the United States on contemporary art, graphic design, art theory, architecture, criticism, curatorial practice, and adjacent fields. We support people who make books and expand the boundaries of what art publishing can be.
Ricky Yanas is a Mexican-American artist, curator and cultural organizer living in Philadelphia. Working within a pragmatic tradition of problem finding, his work extends through a variety of disciplines (photography, documentary film, installation, archival investigation, and place-making) with the aim to create inter-sectional/inter-historical spaces of inquiry, mutual engagement, and collaboration through collective art making.

What (MORE) can a bookstore do? - A question we must constantly propose. Bungee Space, the New York space of 3standardstoppage studio, is an image study- and image criticism-focused art book store, which also sells coffee, wearable designs, and works as an artist-run space & publisher. Rooting in where we come from, our ways of working, and means to survive, we simultaneously try to pursue independence and sustainability to provide a valuable space for emerging contributors to our art ecology. Standing beyond conventional definition of a bookstore, we involve, form, and transform community, intervene social, political, and cultural lives, creating chaos.
Shisi is a multidisciplinary practitioner, 1/3 of 3standardstoppage studio (Bungee Space, NYC & postpost, Beijing), director of Bungee Space (art bookstore on image studies and criticism, and more) and Rehearsal Art Book Fair (reviving independent art and literary publishing in capitalized and/or censored contexts), and publisher-in-training at Ten Books (Bungee’s publishing imprint). She creates projects exploring connections and complexities through chaos. Shisi initiated the Bungee Project (an experiment in a self-sustaining ecological system exploring various intellectual constructs). She also facilitates projects like People’s Pavilion (art happenings in Columbia Park, Chinatown), Live Pond (sound art and experimental music in public spaces), and Warehouse Market New York Edition (a reflective knowledge exchange about fashion and clothes in context).

FORTUNE presents: PRINT TIME AFTER TIME, a weekend-long gathering around print — its methods, its practices, its manifold lives, afterlives, and half-lives. Focusing on publishers and printshops with liberatory work models; print projects led by queer, trans, BIPOC artists; both local standbys and traveling acts — PRINT TIME AFTER TIME offers workshops and panels, and closes with a book fair featuring collectively operated print projects and presses.
We hope to ask: How can print learn from, and leverage, its archives? Why do analog print forms continue to matter, in all the material and labor of their assembly? How can print continue to meet its publics, with intention? What can self-publishing as a collective practice teach us, time after time?
For more PRINT TIME AFTER TIME events, view our calendar here.
PRINT TIME AFTER TIME will take place at Icebox Mall, and is one of myriad projects produced during Collective Futures (October 2–November 15, 2026).
