Somber Nights: Karaoke at The Mixer
Some nights you don't want to be alone. But you also don't feel like being "on."
If you've ever wanted to sing a sad song at karaoke but held back because you didn't want to kill the vibe, here you can't ruin the mood. The mood is the whole point.
This is another Somber Nights, same as always. Dim, slow, intentional. The only swap is that instead of live music and a DJ set, the room is built around karaoke.

DOORS OPEN 7:30pm. KARAOKE starts 8pm.
Here's what you'll find inside:
🌙 Dim, warm lighting at The Mixer, a hidden gem in Liberty Station
🌙 Karaoke hosted by Niko (@karaokeguysd)
🌙 A writing station to put down what you've never said out loud
🌙 The Deep End, conversation and reflection cards on every table
🌙 Take What You Need, little notes from the universe for wherever you are tonight
🌙 Somber Social, a hosted corner run by our volunteers with group activities and prompts, an easy way into a conversation if you want one
🌙 Tarot readings by Marlena Gabrielle of True Psychic Insights (@truepsychicinsightssd)*
🌙 Live single line portraits by Emily Henderson (@emilyhenderson.art)*
🌙 A wristband system so you never have to say out loud whether you want to talk or not
🌙 Craft cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options
You don't have to sing. That's the whole point. Come to listen, come to be heard, come with a song you've been holding onto.
If you do want the mic, have your song ready when you buy your ticket. We'll use it to build the sign-up list, and we're putting the lineup in an order that flows, so the night moves like a concert instead of a list of names. If you want, take 30 seconds before your song to tell the room why you chose it. Totally optional.
Buying more than one ticket? List each singer's name with their song in the karaoke question so we know who's performing.
Everyone who signs up gets one song guaranteed, and slots are limited, so buying early gives you the best shot. If we hit our time cap, later buyers may not get a turn on the mic, but you're still welcome to come sing along and be part of the night either way.
Doors at 8pm. We'll run until midnight, later if the room is still full and the night still has legs.
Each ticket includes one drink, a cocktail or a non-alcoholic cocktail. This is a family friendly venue. Alcohol service is 21+ only, per venue policy.
Not a party. Not therapy. Something in between.
*Tarot readings by Marlena Gabrielle and live portraits by Emily Henderson are independent activations. Fees are set and collected directly by each vendor and are not included with your ticket purchase.
Waitlist note: Joining the waitlist requires a payment authorization hold. This is not a charge. Your card will only be charged if a spot opens up and you are approved. If no spot becomes available, the hold is released automatically and no payment is collected. 🌙
