Community-Based Monitoring, Faith Engagement and Citizen Science - MENA region
Hosted by Danmission, Development for People and Nature Association (DPNA), Université Saint-Joseph (USJ) at the Faith Hub, Blue Zone, CBD COP17 (Yerevan, Armenia).
This event aims to position faith-based stewardship and community-based biodiversity action (Community-Based Monitoring, Citizen Science) as credible contributors to the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).
The session will feature presentations by partner representatives from Lebanon who will share their experiences and reflections from implementing and developing CBM initiatives in their respective contexts. Presenters will highlight how communities are engaged in monitoring processes, the challenges and opportunities they encounter, and the ways community-generated evidence can contribute to accountability and inform decision-making. The session will also explore the role that faith actors and faith-based organisations can play in supporting community engagement and fostering dialogue.
