July 2026 TrueNorthCTO @ Toronto
2026.04 - TrueNorthCTO @ Toronto
This session will include the following discussions:
1) What does it take to achieve 100x productivity using AI
Presenter: Paul Michaud, CEO & Founder, Proceve
LI Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/paulkmichaud/
At Proceve we developed and maintain a 25+ million LOC code base with only 2 developers.
This session shares practical lessons from building a large-scale AI software factory: an ecosystem of AI-based tools, skills, agents, workflows, and applications used to develop, maintain, and automate software and non-software work at significant scale.
Rather than focusing on AI as a single coding assistant, the session will explore what it means to build an AI-enabled operating model for software delivery.
We will discuss how the factory is structured, what has worked and failed, and what CTOs should consider around architecture, governance, quality, ownership, economics, and organizational change.
2) Spec Driven Development
Presenter: Mark Biciunas - Consulting CTO, Wayble
LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-biciunas-963a173/
The software development process has been completely upended by AI and in ways most of us didn't even think possible a short time ago. The implications for development teams and their management are immense, are being felt throughout the industry and it's only just beginning.
One of the most powerful future drivers of this disruption will be Spec Driven Development. This is a paradigm (and technology) designed from the ground up to leverage the strengths of AI while remaining grounded in the real world needs of professional developers and development teams tasked with delivering high quality software that's built to last.
In this talk, we'll start with an introduction to Spec Driven Development. We'll walk through an example session that sees a project started and a spec developed, moved through the development process and result in real-world code. Finally, we'll collectively take a look into our crystal balls and see if we can figure out what the future looks like when a spec becomes the major deliverable and tech is an afterthought.
6:00 PM – 6:30 PM – Networking (Food & Refreshments)

TrueNorthCTO is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit, and curated community of senior technology leaders (e.g. CTOs, CPOs, CIOs, CISOs, CAIOs etc.) across Canada.
TrueNorth provides a collaborative and supportive environment where technologists can share insights, mentor, inspire, and learn from one another based on our collective knowledge and experiences.
The attendance will be curated with preference to those who are senior leaders AND technologists.
