Friday, April 17th. Zeit für Deutsch is back, and our film selection is about to get a little more intense 🤏🏽😈
When watching German language films, you can only avoid the darkness for so long before you have to embrace it; but once you do, you'll tap into some truly incredible works of art. And that's why, this time around, we're showing an unforgettable Oscar-nominated 2009 German psychological drama that haunts you long after it ends 😳
The film takes place in a small village in Northern Germany in the early 1900s, as mysterious pranks targeting the village's upper class become more and more dangerous 😖
To warm up your ears, we'll begin the evening with a short introduction in German to give you an idea of why the film is essential viewing for all German students. Then we'll start the show and present the film in its original German language, with English subtitles (OmeU) 🎞️
After the film wraps, we'll lighten the mood with some low-pressure German language activities for language learners of all levels, so the evening ends on a high note, and the German darkness doesn't follow you home!
