Raising Children in the Age of AI
As artificial intelligence becomes more present in everyday life, it is beginning to shape how children learn, think, and grow.
What does this mean for childhood, and how should it change the way we approach parenting and teaching?
Join us for a conversation with Nikunj Kothari, Celeste Kidd, Sonja Schmer-Galunder, and Ari Krakowski—experts in AI, psychology, and education—to explore how emerging technologies are influencing cognitive, social, and emotional development. The panel and audience Q&A will be moderated by Lauren Dash, Head of Brand at Imbue and a parent navigating these questions herself.
We’ll reflect on questions like:
How does AI change the way children learn and build understanding?
What happens to curiosity, attention, and creativity in a world of instant answers?
What responsibilities do we have in shaping how children grow up alongside these systems?
If you’re a parent, educator, caregiver, or someone thinking about raising children in the future, and find yourself grappling with these questions, this conversation is for you.
This is the fourth event in The Art of Being Human, a series by Imbue exploring human questions in a technological age.
Nikunj Kothari is a partner at FPV Ventures and a father of 2. Before his role as an advisor and investor, he was an early product leader at Opendoor, Meter, and Atlassian.
Celeste Kidd is a Professor at UC Berkeley studying human belief formation and ethical tech. She was a 2017 TIME Person of the Year, and she runs the Kidd Lab.
Sonja Schmer-Galunder is a Professor of AI Ethics at the University of Florida. She works with academics on integrating social and ethical awareness into the development of AI to better address large-scale societal consequences.
Ari Krakowski designs AI curriculum for educators and develops interactive exhibits as Director of the Lawrence Hall of Science, helping translate complex technologies into meaningful learning experiences for children.
Lauren Dash is a brand designer, creative director, and mom of a toddler, with a second child arriving in May. She has been building brands for start-ups since 2010.
Imbue is an AI company building tools to empower humans in the AI age. We’re building toward an open agent ecosystem where you can understand, modify, and verify agents—so they only work in your interest.
