This event emphasizes the significance of cultural heritage and identity ('rooted') as the foundation for personal and professional growth. It also highlights the incredible ability of these women to overcome challenges and rise above obstacles, serving as inspirations for others in their career journeys.
Engage in meaningful discussions through our advocacy roundtables, where council members and supporters can 'come to the table' to join in conversations about advocacy. This event is a space for sharing stories, building connections, and driving change.

Through open dialogue and collaborative action, we'll work together to create a ripple effect of positive change, shaping our workplaces and communities for the better.
About The Speakers
Hady Mendez is an Amazon best selling author, Latina speaker, and ERG coach based in NYC. She is the founder and CEO of Boldly Speaking LLC, a company that is transforming the professional experiences of women and people of color by empowering underrepresented employees with the skills to self-advocate, self-promote, and ascend into leadership roles within Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and across organizations.
With a diverse career spanning over 25 years, Hady has served as Head of Equality for a major tech firm, held multiple customer-facing roles in high tech and financial services, served as a leader and advisor across various Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), volunteered as an international champion for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women, and served as Community School Director at an elementary school in the South Bronx.
Hady’s essays have been featured in Business Insider and #WeAllGrow Latina and her thought leadership has been leveraged by organizations such as Hack.Diversity, Power To Fly, Lean in Latinas, and many others. Hady is a Latinas in Tech Luminarias 2022 Honoree, was recognized as a Women of ALPFA 2023 “Latinas to Watch”, and was recently named a LinkedIn “Top Coaching & Mentoring Voice”.
In her free time, Hady is an amateur street art photographer and an avid podcast listener.
Dhayana Alejandira is a Dominican poet, speaker, community facilitator, and creative writing mentor.
She began her literary journey at age nine in Santo Domingo, continuing it after immigrating to the United States in 2009. Dhayana performed her initial open mic in Okinawa, Japan, where she resided for four years. Her work explores the transformative power of words, delving into inner growth, culture, identity and healing. LA Times, #WeAllGrow Latina, I Am An Immigrant, Black Writers Weekend, The Dominican Writers Association, Al Día Newspaper, Penguin India Publishing, and many others have featured and published her work. In 2021, Dhayana published her first collection of variant prose and poetry, Agridulce, which shines the light on the importance of acknowledging our emotions and experiences as a path to self-awareness and discovery.
In her role as a creative writing mentor, Dhayana Alejandrina finds great joy in sharing her knowledge and experience to nurture the next generation of storytellers. Her work revolves around the transformative power of words, including crafting poetry and stories, mentoring aspiring writers, and facilitating engaging workshops. Beyond the technicalities of writing, she is dedicated to creating heartfelt spaces where individuals can share their stories, build a sense of community, access resources, feel grounded and supported, and, most importantly, be seen. Dhayana's deep belief in the ability of storytelling to connect and empower fuels her enthusiasm for what she does.
Kate Hermosura, EdD serves as the Lead of Women’s Wellbeing & Leadership Development at Seekher Foundation. She has over 13 years of experience across a range of educational contexts working directly with students, parents, schools, and allied health professionals. As a critical feminist scholar and practitioner, her research focuses on the intersection of identity, leadership, and critical feminism in developing diverse and inclusive leaders to transform organizations. She brings passion, energy, and expertise in leadership development, community building, and strategic partnerships. She is committed to amplifying women, expanding access to mental health, and supporting the use of outdoor spaces as tools for healing and connection. Kate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Behavior, a Master's degree in Public Health, and an Education Doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership.
