A Workshop with Verified Champions: How To Tell Better Climate Stories Online
Climate stories that resonate start with community, culture, and what people actually care about. In this hands-on workshop, you'll work alongside Verified Champions to learn how they spot stories, structure content, and make climate communications feel local and real.
Verified Champions is a network of creators run by Verified for Climate – a joint initiative of the UN Department of Global Communications and Purpose, funded by TikTok and Minderoo Foundation. Champions are trusted messengers who weave climate stories into cultural content, reaching audiences that traditional climate communications often miss.
This workshop will be led by two UK Champions:
Lydia Bolton – sustainable fashion designer and upcycler, sharing how creativity and climate connect through making and mending. @lydiabolton_
Bea Turner – ethical fashion educator who breaks down greenwashing and helps audiences make sense of sustainability claims. @thefairedit
What you'll do
See how creators find climate angles in everyday cultural moments
Practise spotting stories with Champion guidance
Develop a content idea from your own community, paired with a Champion
Optionally film a rough first take on the spot
