Africa's Climate Innovation: Where Capital Meets Reality
Africa’s climate innovation ecosystem is no longer a niche story. Across the continent, founders are building solutions for climate mitigation, and adaptation and resilience in food systems, energy, mobility, water, waste, and climate finance. The opportunity is clear. The financing system now needs to catch up.
During London Climate Action Week 2026, Catalyst Fund, FSD Africa, Briter Bridges, BFA Global, Shell Foundation, and Trafigura Foundation are bringing together capital allocators, founders, ecosystem builders, DFIs, philanthropies, corporates, and policymakers for a practical conversation on what it will take to scale climate innovation across Africa.
The event will mark the launch of The State of Climate Tech Innovation in Africa 2.0, a new data-driven report that looks beyond headline funding figures to show where solutions are gaining traction, where they are getting stuck, and what kinds of capital, partnerships, and market infrastructure are needed at different stages of growth.
But more than a report launch, this is a working conversation on how to move from ambition to action: what is working, what is missing, and how funders, founders, and ecosystem actors can better work together to unlock the next wave of African climate innovation.
Join us for a moderated panel discussion with leading funders, investors, and innovators, a special announcement, and an extended cocktail reception designed for high-quality connections between the people building, funding, and supporting climate innovation across Africa.
