ES 515: Intro to Entrepreneurship
Learn how entrepreneurs turn problems into opportunities.
Explore how great ideas are conceived, designed, and brought to life by starting with one essential question: What problem is truly worth solving? You’ll learn how to develop solutions that create real value, and understand the fundamentals of building new ventures.
ES 516: Entrepreneurship via Acquisitions
Starting from scratch isn’t the only way to become an entrepreneur. Learn how to find, acquire, and operate an existing company while exploring topics like acquisition strategy, restructuring, leveraged buyouts, and search funds. This course offers a pragmatic, "real-world" orientation to entrepreneurship through acquiring a company.
ES 615: New Venture Creation
An action-based course on building a new venture from the ground up. We will learn a practical process for exploring markets, identifying market gaps and unmet needs, developing value-creation hypotheses, and turning them into strategic venture proposals. Students will come away with hands-on practice in developing a new venture. A central focus of the course is learning how artificial intelligence (AI) changes what we can build and how we build it. You’ll experiment with current AI technologies, prototype AI-enabled solutions, and assess how these tools reshape opportunity, business models, product design, and venture risk.
