About Event

As AI becomes more embedded in everyday work, there is growing interest in how adoption happens in practice, and how to ensure it is grounded in trust, capability and public purpose.

This workshop will share global research insights and practical case studies to build AI literacy and highlight the people side of successful AI adoption. Through method-based learning and collaborative discussion, participants will engage with real-world challenges and opportunities, reflecting on their own contexts while learning alongside peers from across sectors. Drawing on established change practice and lived public sector experience — including insights from a government agency applying structured change approaches to AI initiatives — the session will connect evidence with implementation. Together, we will explore what it takes to make AI and data more accessible, transparent and equitable within public sector organisations and beyond.

Rishi Nicolai is Director of AI Adoption at the Department of Home Affairs. He has extensive experience as a Behaviour and Modern Work Architect, helping organisations lead the change towards digital wellbeing and employee effectiveness.

Michael Do-Quang is a Senior Manager at Prosci and works closely with Federal Government agencies across Australia, supporting change initiatives in complex public sector environments. His expertise centres on drawing connections between Prosci’s global research and the practical realities of government settings.

Shane Tyrell – Shane is the ANZ Director of Program Delivery.  He oversees a skilled group of instructors and advisors, driving strategic change and transformation projects, and helping clients reach their business objectives throughout their transformation journeys.

AI CoLab events are intentionally open and collaborative. For this session we may capture photos to share publicly.
