Built it or Rent it (with Alex Michalowski)

​Alex Michalowski runs Total Rewards Operations for EMEA at Fresenius Medical Care. Most of the AI tooling in his world arrives through consultants, which turns every build he does himself into a deliberate choice rather than the obvious next step.

We're starting with that choice. When is something worth building yourself, how do you spot a real need, and how do you avoid ending up with ten tools that nobody opens twice.

Alex then takes his benefits inventory as the worked example. Why he built it, what he was trying to replace, and where it has got to. He'll also run the benefits consultant skill he published on our GitHub, which exists because he has no benefits centre of excellence to ring when a question lands.
