NYC HOPE 2026 | Veteran Night Patrol
Join Five Borough Veterans for HOPE 2026 as we participate in New York City’s annual overnight survey of neighbors experiencing street homelessness. This vital effort helps the city understand where help is needed most and how to better allocate outreach services. As veterans, we understand the importance of showing up for our community, and we will be out there to assist the training sites in any way possible while keeping a keen eye out for fellow veterans on the street who may be in need of support.
We are organizing this as a flexible group effort to ensure everyone can participate where they feel most comfortable. You have the option to join our main group at a designated borough site to volunteer alongside other members of Five Borough Veterans (stay tuned for location), or you can choose to volunteer at any other site across the city that is more convenient for you. Regardless of where you are stationed, you will be part of our collective effort to ensure that no one, especially those who served, is overlooked during this count.
To participate, please register here on Luma so we can track our team and stay coordinated. We will be sending a group registration to NYC DSS, so no need for each of you to register with the city as well. Please remember to dress in warm layers for the January weather and ensure your smartphone is fully charged, as the survey is conducted through a mobile app. Let’s work together to make sure every New Yorker counts.
