​What’s more? A backyard picnic with great people and warm vibes - we usually host builders, but we welcome others as well.

​Bring a conversation starter:

• ​A book or a quote that’s caught your interest of late;

• ​A memento or project special to you;

​And,

• ​A question you’re burning to ask;

• ​Or a great story.

​We’ll share our starters with the crowd during intros. Late comers must still share about their items!

​In case you’re blanking on ideas, here’s what people brought to past events: a research paper they’re writing, a 3D-printed phone, robotic hands or a pair of smart glasses, a portrait, or even a statistics textbook!

​Come with curiosity, open-mindedness, and kindness.

• ​Bring your favourite picnic food or beverage, or pitch in $10 for a Vincenzo’s sandwich!

• ​Please fill out your food allergens and dietary restrictions during sign-up. As this is a potluck, consume items at your own discretion and ask about ingredients.

​Sunday might rain, if it does, we’ll bring us indoors to downstairs and the loft, with a virtual fireplace and balcony.

​Come in the front door when you arrive, QR code ready! We’ll scan you in and give you a name tag to fill.

​We encourage guests to start silly dialogues and ones with depth, be wholly themselves, be curious, share questions, and chat about complex problems, and, to make new friends.

​Please be mindful and courteous of the space we’re in. Leave things where you found them, and treat the place as if it were your home :)

​Come join us in Akatos’ cozy indoors for a potluck-style picnic and delectable cupcakes baked by Bandana (check out UW cooking club, where she runs weekly sessions!) and Brenda.

​We bake. You enjoy cupcakes and bring your favourite picnic foods.

​Get together with great people—tinkerers, researchers, builders, founders, and highly curious folks—and enjoy non-shallow chats in a cozy environment.

​We’ll share our quotes with the crowd, use our items as conversation starters, start silly dialogues of depth and laugh lots, chat about complex problems, and share our plans on world domination.
