About Event

Join us on May 2nd for another installment of The Kitchen Table with photographer, filmmaker, and producer Ryan Stopera.

After starting his career as a social worker and community organizer, Ryan began his practice in photography and film to amplify movement work through the power of narrative. Today, he continues to share stories in a process rooted in relationships, justice and truthtelling. Last year Ryan released Back of House, a narrative and art driven photo book celebrating the ancestral origins of cultural cuisines. In 2026 he is on a festival tour with two films, Why We Dance and Ruunta. Ryan's artistic practice centers creating space for other artists to share work with each other. With the collective Cult Classics he collaboratively produces work centering disability justice and mutual aid, and with Public Functionary he programs a process driven screening event Open Screen.

The Kitchen Table is an artist talk series that takes place on the first Saturday of every month. It features a rotating selection of speakers who work in creative industries and invites community members to learn more about each speaker and their work.

Doors open at 11am and we will have coffee and light breakfast for guests. At 11:30am, the talk will begin followed by an audience Q&A.

Space is limited. RSVP to secure your spot.
