​We are back for our third macc.xyz meetup! After another 100+ turnout last time, we're back at the Bollington Tap Room on Tuesday, May 7th for another evening of local tech, talks, and community networking.

​We've got two talks lined up:

​Gareth Langley, Co-founder of Piing: Turning downtime into funtimes at the greatest events on Earth

​When was the last time you heard 80,000 fans cheer for an advert? Piing help the world’s biggest brands engage fans at the greatest events on Earth using massive, 100,000-player branded games on stadium jumbo screens.

​He'll be talking us through Piing's recipe for building 50,000+ player games for live sports and crowd events. Previously the co-founder of the award-winning boutique agency Stardotstar (who did formative work with the BBC, Channel 4, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic), Gareth knows how to build engaging interactive experiences at scale.

​And because it wouldn’t be a talk about Piing without seeing it in action, expect a live demo or two along the way. This'll be followed by a 15-minute Q&A with Rachel.

​Chris Garrett, Founder of C8VA (and macc.xyz): The DNA of High-Performance Development Teams

​This isn't a talk about agentic coding, and it certainly isn't a pitch for a management book. This is a quick, practical look at the DNA of a team that can achieve high velocity.

​Based on 20 years of experience helping startups and internal ventures go from 0 to their first £1m in revenue, this is my take on the impact a startup's vision has on execution, the ideal makeup of an early-stage team, and the cultures and processes required to move fast and build things that scale. There will be "spicy takes"...

​The talk will cover lessons drawn from hands-on experience building Webby and Emmy award-winning tech for blue-chip clients like Apple, Google, and Spotify. I'll share how we are applying these same high-performance principles right now to build Myrtal, our new finance platform that combines agentic AI with real-time collaborative workflows to completely automate expense management and tax analysis.
