About Gorls Who Eat

Gorls Who Eat is a body image support group including a monthly book club and events. At every gathering, you can count on a safe, supportive space where diet talk and body comments simply don’t exist.

Gorls Who Eat was founded by Mikaela, a certified non-diet health coach, following her own experience healing her relationship with food, movement, and her body. Throughout her recovery, she realized that while she was working to unlearn diet culture, the culture around her wasn’t changing. She created GWE to offer the kind of space she needed: somewhere gorls can connect, feel understood, and exist without diet talk or body comments.

About April

Starting dance at the age of four, April has devoted her life to movement. In addition to dance, April spent much of her childhood in her dad’s boxing gym. After receiving her BFA in dance from the Alonzo King LINES Ballet program in San Francisco, she completed her 200hr yoga certification through YogaWorks. In 2022, April also became a certified crystal practitioner. April has found great value in sharing movement, and she is passionate about helping her students and clients build a sustainable practice that supports injury prevention, long-term vitality and overall well-being. You can connect with April through her website aprilfalcon.com or on Instagram: @april_falcon.

About this event

Join us for an afternoon of yoga, meditation and journaling where you’ll practice body neutrality in real time.

Mikaela will introduce a simple, step-by-step framework for responding when a difficult body image thought shows up. Then, April will lead you through a somatic yoga flow and guided body-scan meditation so you can practice staying present with what you notice.

We’ll close with journaling and neutral reframes you can return to when you need them.
