Craft Intensive: Wayward Kin - Becoming as Method (Advanced Writing Workshop) Poetry & Prose (Austin)
Join the East Austin Writing Project’s November Craft Intensive. This month’s theme is: Wayward Kin - Becoming as Method.
In this advanced writing workshop, we'll read excerpts from Joshua Whitehead’s Making Love with the Land alongside heidi andrea restrepo rhodes’s Wayward Creatures and explore migratory becoming as a creative method: the self, the body, and the text always in motion, crossing borders between species, forms, and worlds.
Craft Elements:
Hybrid forms: mixing essay, memoir, lyric, and theory so form can stray and recombine
Metamorphosis as image: where the body becomes land, and the self becomes creature
Migratory becoming: following bodies, languages, and texts as they travel and change
