Come and celebrate Merdeka a little differently this year!
Join us for a social night where you’ll get to meet interesting people and learn new thing’s about Malaysia’s heritage!
We will start the programme off with a simple trivia night hosted by Third Spaces & Malaysianlah, testing your knowledge on all-things Malaysia, followed by a talk on the work behind preserving Malaysia's heritage buildings and why it matters, hosted by Rabbithole.
It's a night built to bring people together around the stories that shape who we are as Malaysians.

About the Talk
Who Gets a Say in Malaysia's Story: Exploring the Work Behind KL's Rejuvenated Heritage Sites
Behind every restored heritage building lies a contest of memory: whose story gets preserved, and whose gets left out? Dr. Tan Chee Yong takes us behind the scenes of KL's most storied restorations and its galleries, from Seri Negara to Warisan KL, to explore how Malaysia curates its past for the future.
About the Speaker
Dr. Tan Chee Yong is a young historian and researcher who has played a key role in the Warisan KL initiative, which is a bold project to revitalize Kuala Lumpur's historic core into a vibrant cultural and creative district.
He was specifically involved in bringing the historical narrative and background of Seri Negara & Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad galleries back to life for the next generation.
Dr. Tan is currently a research analyst at Khazanah Nasional. He holds a PhD in Development Studies from Cambridge University and is a former Tunku Scholar.
