Writing the Heart--An 8-Week In-Person Class in Guided Journaling and Storytelling
Writing the Heart
Summer Evening Writing Classes in Boulder
Writing the Heart is a writing practice built around storytelling, emotional honesty, self-discovery, and bringing your lived experience onto the page.
Some people join because they want to write memoir, personal essays, or books.
Others come because they want a deeper relationship with themselves, a creative practice that feels meaningful, or a thoughtful community where they can slow down and reflect more honestly about their lives.
Both approaches belong here.
This summer, we’ll gather outdoors at North Boulder Park in the cool of the evening, with the foothills of the Rockies rising behind us and the last light settling over the trees and grass.
We’ll sit together, write together, and spend time paying closer attention to our lives.

What Happens in Class
Each class begins with a short meditation and check-in.
I’ll then offer a brief reflection on storytelling, memoir, emotional truth, memory, longing, transformation, or the deeper themes that shape our lives.
From there, I’ll guide the group into a writing prompt, and we’ll spend time writing quietly together outdoors in the park.
The final part of class includes optional sharing and discussion in a supportive and thoughtful atmosphere.
No writing experience is necessary.
