About the event
Austin Health Alliance and Make Texas Healthy Again are hosting a live interview focused on one of the most influential and least understood roles in Texas.

The Texas Agriculture Commissioner plays a major role in shaping school nutrition, farming and ranching practices, pesticide and chemical oversight, and what ultimately ends up on grocery store shelves across the state.

This evening features a live conversation with Nathan Sheets, entrepreneur, founder of Nature Nate’s Honey, and candidate for Texas Agriculture Commissioner.

What we’ll cover

  • How food policy decisions are actually made in Texas

  • Why the Agriculture Commissioner’s role matters for families, farmers, and public health

  • The intersection of food, land stewardship, business, and leadership

  • What’s at stake for Texas as food and agriculture take center stage nationally
