Powering Change: Women-Led Philanthropy in Action
Dasra at Skoll World Forum 2025
Dasra is excited to be back in the UK to connect with like-minded folks and take forward the conversation around impactful philanthropy towards India. We have curated insightful and thought-provoking sessions on the side-lines of the Skoll World Forum 2025. These discussions bring together global leaders, philanthropists, and change-makers to explore innovative approaches to solving some of the most pressing social and environmental challenges.
About the session:
Powering Change: Women-Led Philanthropy in Action
Organised in partnership with Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development (OICSD) at Somerville College, this dynamic panel discussion brings together influential women leaders and philanthropists to examine how philanthropic efforts - driven by women, for women - are creating transformative change. The future of philanthropy is increasingly being shaped by women, who are growing influence over family wealth and financial decision-making. Research shows that women now influence 85% of a family’s philanthropy-related decisions. However, most philanthropy still does not take women’s perspectives into account. The event will have a curated list of attendees, including women founders of organisations working in India, University of Oxford academics working on relevant issues and professionals working in allied sectors. Through inspiring stories and strategic insights, this session aims to touch upon innovative funding models, collaborative solutions and how women donors can lean into their unique strengths to increase their impact further.
