In this talk, we’ll share how we’re pushing variables beyond the basics: using them to seamlessly swap content and styling across multiple brands. We’ll also take you behind the scenes of our theming journey, including the edge cases that tested our assumptions and the lessons we learned along the way.

Design systems promise consistency – but how can you combine B2B, B2C, and B2E, for example, under a single multimodal system that also offers the greatest possible flexibility? In this presentation, we will show how we developed a flexible theme and token model for DB that can adapt to different digital products and touchpoints. We will also openly share on our biggest failures and successes and the lessons we learned from them.
