Human + AI: The Best of Both Worlds
Human + AI: The Best of Both Worlds
An evening about language learning with teachers and AI
An AI tutor can help you practise a difficult sentence ten times. A teacher can explain why a perfectly grammatical phrase might sound strange at a French dinner table. How can we make good use of both?
Join Phanos, creator of ChickyTutor, and Céline, French teacher and founder of L’école de français, for a friendly, interactive evening about AI’s place in language learning.
We’ll look at how guided AI practice can adapt to your level and give you feedback between lessons. We’ll also discuss motivation, accountability and cultural understanding: the everyday work of teaching that goes well beyond correcting mistakes.
The evening will include:
A live demonstration. Phanos will show how ChickyTutor guides speaking practice, gives feedback and helps learners try again.
A teacher’s perspective. Céline will discuss how AI practice can complement her French classes, and where learners still need human guidance.
Time for questions and discussion. When is AI feedback useful? Where does it fall short? What helps you keep practising?
French will be our example, but the conversation is open to anyone learning or teaching a language. No technical knowledge or experience with AI is needed.
Wednesday 16 September 2026, 19:00–20:30
