About Event

Join us on October 28 at 11:00 AM ET for the next Cohere Labs Research Connection Social, where we bring together researchers and community members for discussing their research work! In this session, we are super excited to have Taylor W. Killian and Yi Sha as our speakers!

Taylor Killian is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Brigham Young University (BYU) and a Principal Scientist at Lila Sciences. His work advances sequential decision making under uncertainty, spanning offline and risk-sensitive RL, LLM reasoning and post-training, and applications in healthcare and other high-stakes domains. Prior to joining BYU, Taylor was a Senior Research Scientist and RL/Post-training Lead at MBZUAI, co-leading the K2-Think reasoning model, and a postdoctoral research scientist at Apple, developing RL policies for multi-agent autonomy and exploring LLM agent personalization. He earned his PhD at the University of Toronto and an M.Eng from Harvard University. He has also held research roles at Apple, Microsoft, and Google, and spent nearly six years as technical staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory.

Yi Sha is a Member of Technical Staff at Physical Intelligence and an incoming Assistant Professor at New York University, with appointments in Tandon’s Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department and Courant’s Computer Science department. Her work sits at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and embodied intelligence, with a focus on enabling robots to perceive, learn, and interact effectively in the physical world. Prior to joining Physical Intelligence, Yi was a postdoctoral researcher at UC San Diego and completed her PhD at Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute. She has also worked across industry and startups, including Amazon Robotics and Microsoft.

Come connect with the Cohere Labs community, hear about our speakers’ work, ask questions, and join the discussion.
