Make a Tote!

​Transform a denim tote bag into a one-of-a-kind everyday object in this beginner-friendly hand-sewing workshop. Using reclaimed fabrics, beads, leather scraps, yarn, and other mixed materials, you'll learn a variety of appliqué and decorative stitching techniques while creating a design that's entirely your own.

​♻️ We love giving everyday objects a second life. We'll provide a tote for everyone, but you're also welcome to bring a clothing item you'd like to personalize instead, a denim jacket, button-down, tote, hat, or anything else that could use a little more character!

​🧵 No sewing experience is required, just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.

​*Shanía is a Brooklyn-based sewing educator and content creator who teaches beginner-friendly sewing and upcycling workshops. She helps participants master foundational sewing skills while encouraging them to transform old clothing and textiles into pieces they are proud to wear.
