Sydney Kids Book Club: The Day the Crayons Quit | Little Readers Group (Ages 5-7)

​Ever wondered what might happen if your crayons decided that they've had enough? 🖍️

​This month, our Little Readers (ages 5–7) are diving into Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers’ much-loved picture book, The Day the Crayons Quit.

​Having read the book ahead of the session, the children will explore the colourful world of Duncan's crayons through a playful discussion filled with games and activities.

​We’ll talk about the different crayons, their personalities and the very important things they have to say, with plenty of opportunities for the children to share their own ideas, get creative, laugh and make new friends along the way. We’re all about making your young ones remember that reading can be a lot of fun!

​Our session will come to a close with a gentle mindfulness practice, offering their small hands and big feelings a moment to slow down.

​A little note for parents 💛
To help the children feel comfortable, engaged and free to participate, we ask that parents and carers drop their children off and allow them to enjoy the session independently.

​We’ll be there to guide and support them throughout the session, and we look forward to welcoming you back at pick-up time!
