「あたらしい経済」と「KudasaiJP」が共同運営する企業向けWeb3コミュニティ「Web3 Business Hub（WBH）」では、Web3ビジネスの発展に参考となるセミナーを毎月開催しています。
8月のテーマは「DeFiからオンチェーン金融へ ー SMBC日興証券と振り返るオンチェーン金融の歴史」です。
DeFi、Decentralized Finance、は、ブロックチェーンとスマートコントラクトによって、取引、貸借、資産運用、ステーブルコイン、デリバティブなどの金融機能をオープンに再構築する試みとして発展してきました。2020年以降のDeFi Summerでは、DEX、レンディング、AMM、流動性マイニング、イールドファーミングといった新しい金融プリミティブが急速に広がり、Web3領域における最大の実験場の一つとなりました。
一方で、その歴史は成功だけでなく、ハッキング、過剰なレバレッジ、ガバナンスの課題、規制上の論点、市場混乱とも隣り合わせでした。熱狂と混乱を経た現在、DeFiはRWA、ステーブルコイン、トークン化証券、オンチェーン決済、機関投資家向けインフラなど、より現実の金融システムと接続する形へと進化しつつあります。
今回のWeb3 Business Hubでは、SMBC日興証券株式会社Nikko Open Innovation Lab長 兼 DeFiテクノロジー部長 磯野太佑氏をお招きし、DeFiの誕生からDeFi Summer、市場混乱を経た現在地、そして金融機関がDeFiをどのように捉え始めているのかまでを講義＋ラウンドテーブル形式で議論します。DeFiは何を変え、何を残したのか。オンチェーン金融の次の可能性を、参加者の皆さまと一緒に考えます。
磯野太佑氏プロフィール
2012年にSMBC日興証券に入社し、投資銀行部門に配属。2014年からは同部門にて、主にコンシューマー・リテール（消費財・小売）業界におけるM&Aや資金調達（ファイナンス）業務に従事。
2020年、社内ベンチャープログラムへの参加を経て、Nikko Open Innovation Lab（NOIL）に立ち上げと同時に参画。同部では「次世代技術 × 地方創生」プロジェクトをリードし、2021年には「高専インカレチャレンジ」を、2022年には「ふるさと納税」と連動した金融スキームなどのプロジェクトを立ち上げる。
2023年には、合弁会社「Proof of Japan」を設立。AIとWeb3技術を活用した日本文化の支援・発信事業を展開する。さらに2025年には、Web3VC大手のHashedが組成した第3号ファンドへの出資を主導し、同社のインキュベーションプログラム「Protocol Camp」を通じたW協業を推進。
現在は、SMBC日興証券におけるオープンイノベーションの取り組みを牽引しながら、オンチェーン金融の推進に注力している。一般社団法人日本暗号資産ビジネス協会（JCBA）の理事も務める。

The “Web3 Business Hub (WBH)”, a corporate-focused Web3 community jointly operated by Atarashii Keizai and KudasaiJP, hosts monthly seminars designed to provide practical insights for advancing Web3 business initiatives.
The theme for August is
“From DeFi to On-Chain Finance: Looking Back on the History of On-Chain Finance with SMBC Nikko Securities.”
DeFi, or Decentralized Finance, has developed as an attempt to rebuild financial functions such as trading, lending, asset management, stablecoins, and derivatives in an open manner through blockchain and smart contracts. Since the rise of DeFi Summer in 2020, new financial primitives such as DEXs, lending protocols, AMMs, liquidity mining, and yield farming have spread rapidly, making DeFi one of the largest experimental arenas in the Web3 space.
At the same time, DeFi’s history has not only been one of success. It has also been closely tied to hacks, excessive leverage, governance challenges, regulatory issues, and market turmoil. Having gone through both excitement and disruption, DeFi is now evolving toward closer connections with real-world financial systems through areas such as RWAs, stablecoins, tokenized securities, on-chain payments, and institutional-grade infrastructure.
For this edition of Web3 Business Hub, we will welcome Taisuke Isono, Head of Nikko Open Innovation Lab and General Manager of the DeFi Technology Department at SMBC Nikko Securities Inc. Through a lecture and roundtable format, we will look back on the history of DeFi, from its origins and DeFi Summer to its current state after periods of market disruption, and discuss how financial institutions are beginning to view DeFi today.
What has DeFi changed, and what has it left behind? Together with our participants, we will explore the next possibilities for on-chain finance.
Profile of Mr. Taisuke Isono
Taisuke Isono leads open innovation efforts at SMBC Nikko Securities and is currently focused on driving Web3 initiatives.
In 2023, as part of his role at Nikko, he founded Proof of Japan Inc., a joint venture with the firm utilizing AI and Web3 technology to support Japanese culture. In 2025, he led Nikko's investment into the third fund of Hashed ventures and is collaborating on Web3 incubation through "Protocol Camp". Representing Nikko Securities, he also serves as a director of the Japan Cryptoasset Business Association's (JCBA).
He joined Nikko's Open Innovation Lab (NOIL) at its establishment in 2020 after participating in the internal venture pitch program. At NOIL, he coordinated 'Next-gen Tech x Regional Revitalization' projects and launched key initiatives such as the 'KOSEN Intercollege Challenge' (2021) and a Furusato Nozei-linked finance scheme (2022).
Previously, he worked in SMBC Nikko Securities' Investment Banking division, which he joined in 2012, specializing in Consumer Retail & Healthcare M&A and financing after 2014.
