Malaysia in Full Swing: Founders Building Global from KL
Join January Capital and Stripe for an invite-only lunch with Malaysian founders and operators building beyond Malaysia, from early-stage startups to companies already scaling globally across software, fintech, commerce and AI.
Over lunch, a short panel on what it really takes to build a global company from Malaysia, with:
Gerardo Salandra, Founder, respond.io
Joshua Lim, Investor, January Capital
Richard Ong, SEA Startup & Investor Partnership Lead, Stripe
We’ll get into:
Going global from day one, and how AI is changing that playbook
Raising capital without defaulting to “growth at all costs”
Going from founder-led sales to a repeatable global GTM engine
Afterwards, keep the conversations going over virtual golf. Beginners are welcome: there’s a quick tutorial, plus chipping and putting bays for anyone who’d rather talk than swing.
What to expect
Candid, practical perspectives on going global, fundraising and scaling
A small, curated room of around 20 founders and operators
Buffet lunch, panel, Q&A and virtual golf
