About Event

In Collaboration With

A model can summarise any paper ever written in a few seconds. So the conclusion isn't scarce anymore. What's scarce is the reasoning: the assumptions, the evidence, the step where you'd have pushed back. That's the part worth an evening.

NEAR Builder’s Cafe reads the originals, and asks one question of each: what changes now that machines can read, reason and act on this?

Some texts are about AI. Turing asking whether machines can think. Shannon's 1948 theory of information. "Attention Is All You Need". Sutton's "Bitter Lesson". Some are from fields AI is about to rewrite. Hayek on how knowledge is spread across a society. Ostrom on how communities govern what they share. The judgment that made privacy a fundamental right in India.

This Edition we have:
Varun Verma on AI in Finance
Varun Verma started his career at Deloitte in Mumbai, working on fraud detection and risk management. He then went to NYU for his Master’s in Financial Engineering, where he built predictive tools in Python for a BlackRock capstone project.

Abhiraj Mengade on Ai in STEm & Formal Lean verification
