EduX Pre-Hackathon Workshop 2 - Cogniti
Empowering Educators with Agency to Create Customised AI Educational Tools
How can educators take control in creating AI-powered educational tools?
About the Event
As part of the lead-up to the Cambridge EduX Hackathon (Oceania Edition), we are hosting a series of pre-hackathon workshops to help participants engage with real educational challenges and explore how AI can be meaningfully applied in learning contexts.
(More information on EduX: https://luma.com/eqpw25d9)
This session focuses on how educators can be empowered in designing and creating AI-powered educational tools, shifting from passive users of technology to active builders of learning experiences.
Led by Professor Danny Liu (University of Sydney), the workshop will introduce Cogniti.ai, a platform that enables educators and innovators to design and build their own AI-driven learning experiences and mini-apps, without requiring advanced technical backgrounds.
The session will explore how these tools can be shaped around teaching ideas, support student understanding, and create more engaging and interactive learning experiences, while remaining grounded in real educational contexts.
Participants will gain practical insight into how to move from initial ideas to focused, meaningful AI tools preparing for the upcoming EduX Hackathon.
What You’ll Learn
During this workshop, we will explore:
Designing AI-enabled learning experiences with Cogniti
Building customised AI agents for educational needs
Brainstorming innovative learning ideas with Cogniti
What makes AI experiences pedagogically meaningful
Applying Cogniti to strengthen EduX hackathon projects
