From Karachi to Wall Street: Journey as an International Student at NYU Stern
โ๐ Sunday, August 10
๐ฅ 10:30 AM EST / 7:30 PM PKT
๐ Live on Google Meet (link will be shared after RSVP)
โMost international students figure out investment banking recruitment after arriving in the U.S. โ often too late
โThis session is your chance to get ahead. Meet Wajeeh Mir, an investment banking analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York. Originally from Pakistan, he studied at NYU and started his career in corporate & investment banking as a summer analyst, and later as a full-time analyst at HSBC.
โIn this session, heโll break down how he navigated it all: from NYU to Wall Street, and what he wishes someone had told him earlier. He will discuss what day-to-day life at an investment bank looks like and how one can stand out during the recruiting process.
โWho is this for?
๐ International students based in the U.S.
๐ Students moving to the U.S. in Fall 2025
๐ Anyone exploring careers in finance, business, or consulting
โWhat youโll learn:
โ
How to build a resume and story that stands out in competitive recruiting
โ
What to start doing before you arrive on campus
โ
How to network when you donโt know anyone
โ
The things Wajeeh wishes he had known earlier
โThis will be a real, honest, no-fluff session โ part moderated Q&A, part open conversation where you can ask Wajeeh your questions directly.
